The model:

• A version of the Water Resources Evaluation of Non-point

Silvicultural Sources (WRENSS) procedure

• Recognizes two hydrologic settings:
  Snow-dominated: snow pack affects storage
  
  and release of water
  Rain-dominated: snow is not important

• Uses change in vegetation cover density (leaf-area index)

as the key to estimating change in water yield
